In the freezing, stunning landscapes of Scandinavia, the winters are cold and long. The perfect weather to use a wood-burning stove. Known for their minimalist design and high efficiency, Scandinavian-style wood-burning stoves have become a popular choice well beyond the Nordic region. In Norway, rugged fjords and mountains dominate the western coast. Sweden features vast forests and numerous lakes in its central and northern areas, where Denmark is comparatively flat, with rolling hills and sandy beaches. Scandinavia boasts a diverse range of stunning landscapes that continue to inspire interior designs in homes worldwide.

Scandinavia – The perfect backdrop for a wood-burning stove:

Scandinavia — made up of Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland- has for generations had a deep-rooted tradition of using wood as a primary heat source. In regions where temperatures can drop well below freezing, the need for reliable, efficient heat gave rise to the development of stoves.

Our Purevision PVR Cylinder wood-burning stove, pictured below, is a popular Scandinavian-style stove in our range, featuring a stunning 180-degree panoramic ceramic window that provides an optimal view of the flames. This stove has a 5kW nominal output with up to 87% efficiency and is multi-fuel capable for optional smokeless fuel use.

What makes Scandinavian Style Wood-Burning Stoves So Desirable?

Scandinavian wood-burning stoves are well-known for their clean lines and minimalist, understated look. Nordic design principles focus on simplicity, functionality and a respect for nature. Specifically, Nordic designs look at things that are stripped of excess show, focusing on a very much less-is-more approach. Everything that has a Nordic design principle must serve a purpose.

With Nordic design, there is a focus on practicality: furniture and décor often have multi-purpose features, allowing for efficient use of space and easy, stress-free day-to-day living. With our Purevision PVR stove, the Nordic style principles are clear to see. The 180-degree window allows you to enjoy a wide, back-to-nature view of the wood and flames. The cylindrical design makes it more practical for fitting into spaces where a larger rectangular stove may struggle. The storage for the wood also further enhances its practical credentials. The cylindrical design means you can enjoy a 360-degree heat if the fire is stand-alone in an open-plan room and not in a fireplace. Although this fire can fit in a fireplace if needed.

Rather than chasing trends, Nordic designs tend to be timeless, allowing you to enjoy them for decades without falling out of fashion. We’re confident that our Purevision PVR stove will be creating a wow factor in homes for many years to come.

We offer more than just the Purevision PVR.

While the Purevision PVR remains one of our most popular stoves, we also offer the Woodtec FCS stove. Pictured below, this stove can be installed with only a 10mm distance to combustibles from the wall at the rear and 25mm at the sides. While the fire window does not give as wide a view of the Purevision PVR, there is still a curved, functional look to the stove.

And finally, introducing the Go Eco Circulus stove, pictured below. Similar to the Woodtec stove, it features a distinctive cylinder design, but without the 180-degree window.
