Many homes across the UK are missing out on the benefits, which can come from a new, high efficiency gas fire.
Many homes keep with their old “trusted” fire, simply because it still works, with no real awareness or consideration about how efficient (or safe for that matter) it may be.
A new gas fire has a number of signifiant advantages such as lower running costs, enhanced controllability and not to mention the range of beautiful designs now available, including things like under bed lighting, and programable thermostat room controls, along with day timer settings.
The choice nowadays is exceptional. In this article we will outline three of the most compelling reasons fuelling the demand for new, high efficiency gas fires.
The design – As we have mentioned there are a wide range of designs available now. In the past it was the standard 16″ gas fire, which most people could buy. Nowadays the choice is more diverse. With the wide range of gas fires, such as those in the Charlton & Jenrick range, you are able to select from a range of options and designs such as:
Size and style of fire – from traditional 16″ fire to elaborate hole in the wall fires
Remote control options
Under bed lighting
Improved efficiency – We live in a world that rightly so, is much more focused on efficiency and energy saving. A modern gas fire is a great deal more efficient compared to one of a decade or so ago. Saving you money and helping the environment. Although many fires were built to last, there is still a large number of, what is known as “zombie fires”. These are old, inefficient fires, which refuse to die! And so while they may “work” and there is an old saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” they could be wasting your money, while you have no idea about what else is out there.A gas fire is generally not a item people browse, unless they have a specific reason.
Running a typical gas fire from the 1980’s with a 25% efficiency, for 7 hours a day, 125 days per year would cost around £320. In comparison running one of the most efficient gas fires in the Charlton & Jenrick range, with over 80% efficiency, such as the Paragon Core, would cost around half that. This would mean inside a number of years the new fire would have paid for itself.
Secondary heat – There are considerable savings, which can be achieved from heating just one room, which can be achieved with a high efficiency gas fire. Fuel poverty in the UK is a serious issue. That’s not to say you should consider a new fire if you’re experiencing fuel poverty, but it’s a valid point to consider, should you wish to really embrace heat efficiency in the home.
Charlton & Jenrick have a range of gas fires, which product exceptional levels of heat and efficiency. Below are a few example of such:
